Modelling of additive manufacturability of nickel-based superalloys for laser powder bed fusion

The additive manufacturability of nickel-based superalloys for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) technologies is studied by considering the in-process cracking mechanisms. largely depends on resistance to liquid and solid-state cracking. Herein, we propose a two-parameter-based, heat deformation (HR-DR) model, accounting relation between chemical composition (both major minor elements) susceptibility, which generalized from elemental microsegregation behavior mechanisms LPBF process induced proposed model validated experiments in this study hitherto reported data community. HR-DR-model found be theoretically acceptable easy-to-use approach prediction during LPBF. influence alloying elements ?? precipitates discussed. provides path designing not only new solid solutioning, but also more importantly strengthened applications.
